Fall Pics!

So my laptop hard drive crashed again so my blogging has totally been put on the back burner again.  Not that I cant keep it up using the "regular" computer but my laptop was just so much more convenient!!  Anyway I wanted to get some fun pics of the kids while we still had some beautiful fall colors and I have to say I almost waited to long and missed them!  I think I still got some fun ones though!
I thought I would play around with some of the pics and I have to say it was fun and I kinda like them!
So Colby wasnt very cooperative at all today.  He wanted to run and explore and really had no desire to even look at me for a picture!  These last  pic show all his frustration at being made to take a picture and when he wouldnt stay around where we were drastic measures had to be taken to make him stay and let me tell you he was not so happy!!
I really wanted to get some with then walking away and towards me and I think they turned out pretty cute!!

Stones Apple Barn

We took the kids to Stones Apple Barn on saturday for some apple picking fun!  They have a 20 pound minimum so we got lots!!   We got to take a tractor ride out to the row we wanted to start on.  Abby, Dylan and Lacey loved it of course and Colby did not!  I was surprised!  I thought he would have loved it but once we started going he started crying-I felt bad for him being scared but it was pretty funny!
Lacey tossing an apple over her shoulder because it was "so gross".
One thing I thought was awesome is that you can eat as many apples as you want while you are picking!  The kids loved this and ate a bunch-I think Colby had about 3 or 4!
They also had animals you could feed apples to.  Including you guessed it cows!!  Lacey was so excited!  She kept calling to them and they came running expecting to be fed so they weren't to happy to find out we were empty handed!  I think Lacey bubble was busted when these cows came up to the fence because they were an awfully smelly bunch!

300!!

Well this is my 300th post! How fun huh?! And how appropriate being that we live in farm country that is be about taking the kids to John Deere Pavillion to see all the tractors!

It has been awhile since we have been over there and they have this awesome kid section now will all kinds of hands on stuff for them to do!
I think these pics are a must for any kid visiting the pavillion!
And the tractor pics for the girls.  The thing that is so fun about this place is that you can climb up on just about every thing in there and check out all the huge farm equipment.
 Lacey means business!
And I think we have found future summer jobs for Dylan and Colby!
The kids saved the big one for last!  They were so excited to climb up into this bad boy!
So all in all fun times at the John Deere Pavillion for the kids and I do have to say that they have some fun stuff for adults-they have some simulators for stuff and Bryan loved those although I didnt get a pic of him!

County Fair Time!

Since we didnt take a "real" vacation this summer we took the kids to the county fair which lucky for us is about 3 minutes from our house!  We thought we were being pretty clever since the kids got in free and we planned to do all the free stuff but man you can really rack up a bill when buying something to eat and something to drink!  We ended up spending more that we planned but the kids had a great time so it was worth it!
They had a petting zoo, which the kids loved!  It was just a little fenced in area with all the animals roaming free and you could just go inside.  I thought Colby might be a little afraid but he was so excited to be there with the animals and actually got pretty mad when it was time to go!
We got some food for the kids to feed some of the animals and as you can see Lacey thought it was awesome!
She also found a cow and while it wasnt a black and white one  she was still excited!
Dylan wanted a pic with the white goat!
Colby was in love with this little piglet!  Later on we went back again and the he was roaming free with the other animals and Colby spent the whole time following him.  It was super cute!
 Lacey kissing the cow.
There was a guy making just about anything out of balloons -it was pretty amazing what he could do!  Lacey got 2 butterflies!
Dylan got an octopus hat thing.
 Here is the balloon guy.
Abby got a pink flower hat.
Then they got their faces painted.  We had to wait for forever!!
Then we went and watched some bull riding and some barrel racing and ended the night with some fireworks.  It was alot of fun and the kid loved watching the all the bulls!
We also walked through and saw all the animals.  We were walking through looking at all the cows and there was a huge black and white and Lacey gasped in a huge breath and said "oh its my favorite kind! Can we get him?  Can we get him?"  She was so excited!  I dont know why she loves cows so much but she does!
We also went back the next afternoon and had to go see the cows again and then we went over to the actual "fair" area and let them ride some rides which they thought was pretty fun.  So all in all it was alot of fun and the kids had a great time.  I think we might have to go again next year now that the kids know what they will be missing!
