Colby and the sit and spin!

So Colby found the sit and spin and although he hasnt quite figured out how to do it the right way he has certainly found a way to entertain himself!  The difficult part was keeping the other kids off so he could play with it!

Swim Lessons!

Abby decided that she didnt want to take swim lessons this year "Its just not my thing mom, dancing and soccer those are my things, swimming is just not my thing". But after entertaining Colby and seeing the other two in the water she sure changed her tune real fast!! Lacey was in level 1 and it was her first year, which she totally loved!! She is totally awesome!
Dylan was in level 2 and was way better at just jumping in the water than he was the last time! He had a great time!
On the last day of classes Lacey got to jump off the diving board. She was a little hesistant but then gathered her courage and became the fearless Lacey we all know and hopped off the board! She also got to go down on the slide so she was one happy girl!
Dylan got to hop across the lilly pads. He was so excited and thought it was alot of fun!
So Lacey passed level 1 and Dylan was so close to passing level 2, all he had to do was swim 5 strokes using his arms and legs together on his front and back. I really wanted him to finish level 2 and Abby really wanted to take lessons so I signed both Abby and Dylan up for level 2, Lacey also wanted to take more lessons but I didnt think it was fair to the swim teacher to make them have all 3 of them in the same class! So she will just have to wait till next summer!
At the end of their lessons they got to go on the diving board. Abby went off a couple times and then she was done, Dylan woud have just kept going if they let him. He even did a cannonball-he was so excited!! They also got to go down the slide, alot and they loved it!!

The Fourth!

Flash back to the 4th of July-we went to the parade here in town-the kids loved it and got a ton of candy and popcicles. They were handing those out left and right, it was so so hot that day! Colby really got into waving at everyone! (I know he still has that dang pacifier but for that day I figured it would make everyone around us happy to not have in screaming the whole time! but it will be gone by october!)
Abby and Bryan waiting for the parade to start-they look happy huh?!
They were all excited to see the horses. Lacey was jumping up and down laughing, she loved them!
Say cheese-well everyone but Lacey I guess.
Take 2-and thats as good as it got because Colby wouldnt stay sitting down!

Spring Recital!

Alright I know I have a lot of posting to do but first I have to give a majorly huge shout out to my awesome Dad who fixed my laptop and saved all my pictures when my hard drive decided to die!! Thanks so much Dad, love you tons! So since I dont have anything posted since the end of school I have alot to do about summer!--Just kidding we didnt really do that much! But I am going to be done posting it all by wednesday, thats when Abby and Dylan start school! So anyway I am starting with Abby and Lacey's spring recital! I think Lacey enjoyed taking a dance class although I think she needs something a little more physically demanding! She loved her teacher Miss Crystal and had fun dancing and being silly but could really care less about actually learning the dance! I had a cd with her music but man I couldnt get her to practice for anything!! The pics and videos for both girls are from the dress rehearsal since you are not allowed to take any during the actual recital. Lacey actually did alot better on recital night although she had her tongue sticking out the whole time! I am just hoping it was was more of a concentration thing!
Abby took ballet and jazz this year. She wanted to try out jazz and I was a little hesitant because I know they sometimes do moves that arent age appropriate but I figured with only being level 1 that we would probably be safe and for the most part it was alright. The first day they were learning their routine they had to learn how to do chest pops and Abby came out and said "mom, that move is so inappropriate!" It was pretty funny. She never quite got it down because she wasnt really comfortable doing it and that is aright with me! Luckily she has other classes she wants to try this next year. She did good at rehearsal but she did way better on recital night-not so much looking around at other people to make sure she was doing the right moves!
This year the Ballet number was "The Help". I thought at first that it would be kinda fun but soon changed my mind. The younger girls dance is really short and they kinda get lost in the shuffle. It seems like more of a showcase for the older girls. So that is annoying and I dont really get the ending. It is kinda abrupt and weird. And I apologize now for the close up view of the video, I wanted to get it close so you could see Abby but to get the whole stage I would have had to stop the video and start again since my camera is stupid and wont let you use the zoom while filming-also super annoying!
ok well i guess blogger doesnt want to upload Abby's ballet video, I have tried like 20 times. So I will try again later but decided to go ahead and post this now.

Last Day of School

Abby and Dylan were really excited about the last day of school!  I am going to go about this a little backwards because the new blogger doesnt like me much and it was making me so upset-is anyone else having trouble with it?!  Anyway, this post has a lot of pic (mostly for my mom!)  Dylans teacher made these awesome books throughout the year for all the kids in his class
this is a penguin!
I love this one!  Dylan put his name as "McStoker"!
The kids made their traditional candy grams for their teachers.  Dylan was excited to finally get to do one after watch Abby do them for the last couple of years!
Dylan LOVES Mrs.Swalve!  We got to school early so I could get some pics with the teachers without a billion kids all around.  We were first in Dylans class and his teacher was crying as she read the candy gram!  She totally loved it and I felt so bad that she was already having a hard time and the day hadnt even started yet!!
Abby also LOVES Mrs. Latimer!  I loved that she was willing to challenge Abby to set high goals for herself and then shared in her excitement when she reached them!  She also loved the candy gram and was laughing as she read it!
Dylan's teacher had a ton of water balloons for the kids at the end of the day.  I got to the school early to wait for them to get out and was there in time to snap some pics!  They started with a balloon toss and then it turned into a water balloon fight.  The had a blast!
At the end they all got one more balloon to throw and then his teacher gather them all around and broke the last one on all of the kids.  They were all laughing and screaming!
Since the kids left all excited I wasnt expecting the reaction after school.  Dylan got in the car and said he had a great day and then broke down crying!  He was so sad to be leaving his teacher!  Abby was all smiles when she got in the car and then when Dylan started crying Abby started getting sad and then when we got home she read a note from her teacher and then she started crying!  They both cried off and on all afternoon.  Abby would calm down and then would start crying when she saw Dylan crying.  Dylan wanted to keep his book with him at all times and whenever he looked at it he would start crying again.  It was crazy!!  A little overboard but I am so grateful that they love the teachers!  Dylan even cried himself to sleep.  I thought that we had gotten past the crying part but every time he pulls out that book the tears start to flow!  It is going to be a long summer!
